Hi! I’m Lucy,
A dog's best friend
Hey there. I'm super excited that you're checking out my website! Here, you can find some of the work that I did as part of a project for the Sweetland Minor in Writing. In addition to this minor, I am a pre-med student dual majoring in Spanish and Molecular Cellular Developmental Biology. I am aware of how much of a mouthful that is, but I am adamant on making my own life harder than necessary.

Anyway, let's talk about the reason you're here: to see my work! For this gateway course, we were tasked with taking a piece of our writing, and changing the genre TWICE. So, I chose my favorite poem that I wrote last year after the shooting at Michigan State University. I felt so helpless. I couldn't do anything about what was going on in the world. So, I wrote. Looking back on this poem made me emotional and angry. I decided that my first genre switch would be to a zine.

If you're unfamiliar with zines, they're basically handmade booklets that can be about anything and everything. It was the perfect mode for me to express my frustration and use my very best skill: sarcasm.
